Lenovo unveil a new IdeaPad called the YOGA, The lenovo model is called yoga 13, Lenovo Claimed to be the industry's first multi-mode notebook with a 360 degree flip-and-fold design, the new portable computing solution combines the ease-of-use of a 10-point capacitive touch tablet with the functionality and slim profile of an Ultrabook, while also bringing the screen closer to the user with a tent/stand monitor mode.
As for those in-between uses, Lenovo demonstrates a pair. First up is “tent mode” where the Yoga is folded back with the screen at a 30-ish degree angle to the keyboard — perfect for desktop touchscreen use. The other is “stand mode,” where the screen lines up perpendicular to the keyboard and faces away from it — which would be handy for lunchtime presentations.
Even at just 17mm thick and three pounds, the Yoga packs plenty of harware muscle. That ten-point multitouch display pumps out 1600×900 pixels, and second-gen Intel Core processors, up to 8GB of RAM, and SSDs up to 256GB make this a machine that’s flexible enough to handle a wide variety of tasks and not merely positions.
Lenovo expects the IdeaPad Yoga to hit the street at around $1200 when it arrives later this year. It’s set to ship with Windows 8 preinstalled, and Lenovo’s promising the Yoga will be available at the launch of Microsoft’s next OS.
