Huawei Ascend P1 S Coming to China early first quarter of 2012

The Chinese giant’s iPhone-killer made quite a stir at CES with its super-skinny 6.48mm (0.255 inch) frame. The device will also feature Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is  powered by the dual-core TI OMAP4460 CPU powering the phones, clocked at 1.5GHz and complemented by 1GB RAM. alongide an SGX 540 graphics engine.

The Ascend P1 S and P1 are near identical mobile twins, A 4.3-inch, Super AMOLED 960 x 540 displays qHD display is protected by hardened Gorilla Glass and there is a broad range of UMTS/GSM 3G and HSPA+ 4G connectivity capabilities, according to the firm.

Stephen Elop: Nokia's First Windows Phones Coming in a few Weeks

While we are all excited about today's iPhone event, Nokia has shed some light to their Windows Phone schedule as well. Nokia's CEO, Stephen Elop, held a speech yesterday at ECT Forum in Helsinki, Finland, where he revealed that Nokia's first Windows Phone 7-based devices will be revealed within a few weeks. This isn't a surprise since Nokia will be holding the annual Nokia World Trade show on October 26th in London. However, this hints that Nokia has not experienced any further delays, although it's not clear when Nokia will actually be shipping these phones. 

How many and what kind of phones Nokia will announce, is the question. Some reports have suggested three models at the beginning, but there are no concrete proofs to support that. What is certain is that these phones will pretty much dictate Nokia's future in the smartphone market.

Dell XPS 14z Launches in China, US Launch Coming Soon

The Dell XPS 14z, the 14-inch counterpart to the XPS 15z that we praised in our review last month, is rolling out in China this week with a US launch soon to follow.

We (and others) noted the XPS 15z's resemblance to the MacBook Pro, and the 14z continues in the same vein: the laptop is less than an inch thick and weighs 4.4 pounds, but still includes dual-core Sandy Bridge processors, an optional Optimus-capable NVIDIA GT 520M GPU, USB 3.0 ports, and an optical drive. The screen resolution is reported to be an unexciting 1366x768, though it isn't mentioned whether the 14z will share the 15z's 1080p upgrade option.

For my part, I find 14" laptops to be a good deal: you can usually get the same amount of power as a bulkier 15" laptop in a package that's not as cramped as smaller laptops can sometimes be. I'm always excited to see PC makers put some thought into their products' designs - hopefully the 14z impresses when it comes to other territories in the coming weeks.

Minecraft Pocket Edition Coming to Android on September 29

The portable edition of Minecraft, the popular world building/sandbox/survival horror game by indie developer Mojang, is shedding its Xperia Play exclusivity and coming to other Android devices on September 29.

The reveal video, linked below, shows a Mojang employee playing the game via touchscreen - look direction is controlled by swiping and player movement is controlled using an onscreen directional pad. Whether this control scheme works as well as a keyboard and mouse or even the Xperia Play's buttons remains to be seen.

Minecraft Pocket Edition, which is at this point a product completely separate from the standard PC version of Minecraft, currently sells for about $6.50 on the Android Market. Like the PC version, it is being updated continuously and should see new improvments and features added over time.

L.A. Noire Coming to PCs This November

L.A. Noire, Rockstar’s gritty 1940s crime drama adventure from developer Team Bondi, is headed to PCs next month. It will release in North America on November 8 and in Europe on November 11 for $49.99. No word yet on a Mac version, though Mac players will be able to access the game via OnLive.

Dubbed L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition, this package includes all downloadable content previously released on consoles. It will also add support for NVIDIA 3D vision and will be controllable with either keyboard/mouse or a gamepad. Rockstar claims it will run on a “wide range of PCs,” though you may want to double-check their specifications to be sure your PC is up to snuff:

Nokia N9 complete Specification, Feature and Price ... Coming soon

Nokia announced the N-series future phone, a phone that will be available in a variety of colors, but the interesting part is that it will not have Windows on it but MeeGo, an open-source operating system that was not released on any device until now.

N9 will have an 8 megapixel camera capable of shooting 720p, the memory between 16 and 64 GB, 1 GB RAM, 1 GHz CPU and 3.9 AMOLED display inch with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels (no other buttons on the front). Like any self-respecting Smartphone will have a compass, accelerometer, proximity sensor and ambient light, the total weight of the device being 135g. And the software is said to support HTML5 browser, program navigation and support for Office documents.
The casing is made of polycarbonate and has the following dimensions: 116.5 x 61.2 x 12.1 mm. In addition, the screen is Gorilla Glass, so very strong.

Mac OS X Lion Coming June 14th?

Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference 2011 (WWDC) takes place later today, and one of the main things that Apple will be showing is Mac OS X Lion, Along with iOS 5.0 and their new iCloud music streaming service.

We are expecting Apple to announce the date that Mac OS X Lion will be available, with many people expecting it to go on sale via the Mac App Store some time today, but it seems according to source a recent report it will go on sale on the 14th of June 2011.

Preview of Windows OS based tablet coming next week?

We've learned an awful lot about a Windows tablet OS this past five months, with stirrings of a 2012 launch and now the rumor mill has been set in motion with word of an impending preview expected next week. According to Bloomberg, three sources have confirmed Microsoft's plan to flaunt the much-anticipated UI, possibly at upcoming appearances at AllThingsD and Computex. The showcase is supposedly set to run the touchscreen-enabled software on a Tegra-equipped machine. We'd previously reported on stirrings of a June demo. Considering all the evidence that's stacked up over the past few months, we'd say 2012 is looking like a rather practical target.

Seaget Slimmest External Hard Disk Coming in Second Quarter 2011

Storage capacity and the physical size of storage media have always shared an inverse relation. As the drives gradually shrunk over time, storage capacity has increased nonetheless. Seagate has given its GoFlex range of portable external drives the same treatment with the new GoFlex Slim drive. The Slim GoFlex variant packs in 320GB storage capacity in a 2.5-inch form factor that's slimmed down to 9mm, which is 38% thinner than the previous GoFlex range.

You essentially get the same form factor, but in a thinner package that's easier to slip into your pockets. The secret behind GoFlex Slim's anorexia is Seagate's Momentus Thin drive, which spins at a speedy 7200RPM and features the USB 3.0 interface. The drive may be slim, but the price sure isn't. It retails at an MRP of Rs. 4,500, but a trip to your local hardware haven is recommended for the current street price.

The Toshiba Tablet Coming this spring

Toshiba recently announced the release of their tablet: The Toshiba Tablet (well, it seems that they have not decided of a name yet). The Toshiba Tablet is scheduled to be out this coming spring.

I did some searches and found some information about it and that`s what I will be sharing with you in this article.

According to the information provided by Toshiba, The Toshiba Tablet will have the latest version of Google Android, namely Honeycomb installed. Additionally, The Toshiba Tablet has quick-keys for options like Home, Menu and others to allow users to quickly navigate through the operating system of Honeycomb.

The Toshiba Tablet also has a 16:10 widescreen, with a resolution of 1280x800. Users will be able to view HD 720p videos and surf the internet without any cropping of the graphics. The screen of the Toshiba Tablet has ambient light sensors that allow the user to adjust the color and brightness to match with the time of the day.

As graphics card, the Toshiba Tablet has the NVIDIA Tegra 2, which promises an excellent multimedia experience to the viewers.

Among the usual features are ports for microphone and headphone, an SD card slot, a suite of sensor, GPS, USB and HDMI port and others…

There are 2 cameras in the Toshiba Tablet: a 2 mega pixel at the front and a 5 mega pixel at the rear, together with the autofocus feature. Wi-Fi would allow surfing of sites on the net, including flash sites and others.

The battery of the Toshiba Tablet can be removed and changed. However, you will need a screwdriver to do this.

AMD Phenom II X4 955 CPU Coming on April 20th

AMD was planning to launch 3.1GHz Phenom II X4 950 in Q2 according to our previous source, but Phenom II X4 955 is said to replace it as the fastest AMD CPU.

Phenom II X4 955 has employed 45nm processing and Socket AM3. Clocked at 3.2GHz (16*200MHz), it’s coming with 2MB (4*512KB) L2 Cache and 6MB L3 Cache. With 125W TDP, Phenom II X4 955 is said to be launched on April 20th.

NVIDIA's Project Kal-El: Quad-Core A9s Coming to Smartphones/Tablets This Year

NVIDIA just dropped a bombshell. Not only is its third generation Tegra architecture, codenamed Kal-El, back from the fab but it's up and running Android after only 12 days. (Updated: Video and Gallery) Apple's iPhone 4 Coming to Verizon Early Next Month, With Wireless Hotspot

Well, it's official - Verizon is getting the iPhone 4. The Apple/Verizon relationship developed over the last two years. The two companies began technical discussions starting in 2008 about bringing the iPhone to Verizon. The phone then spent a year in testing and design and starting early next month, the iPhone 4 will come to Verizon.

The Apple/Verizon relationship is formalized in a multi-year, non-exclusive agreement. However we have no additional details, including whether or not release schedules will be synchronized with AT&T.

At Verizon's press conference there's a lot of mutual respect sharing between the two companies. It looks like there's a desire to establish that these two companies want to work together and will continue to going forward. 

Existing VZW customers will be able to pre-order the iPhone 4 online on February 3rd, 2010. A week later, on February 10th, everyone will be able to order the Verizon iPhone 4 both online and in Verizon stores as well as at the Apple store (both online and at physical stores).

The phone will sell for $199.99 for a 16GB version, and $299.99 for the 32GB version. The Verizon iPhone 4 will feature wireless hotspot capabilities allowing you to connect up to 5 devices to it over WiFi. Verizon indicated that you wouldn't be able to use voice and data simultaneously, consistent with other CDMA devices on its network.
