I've published eight books in the past seven years, five with traditional publishers (Wiley, Penguin, HarperCollins), one comic book, and the last two I've self-published. In this post I give the specific details of all of my sales numbers and advances with the traditional publishers. Although the jury is still out on my self-published books, "How to be the Luckiest Man Alive" and "I Was Blind But Now I See" I can tell you these two have already sold more than my five books with traditional publishers, combined.If you, the entrepreneur, self-publish a book you will stand out, you will make more money, you will kick your competitors right in the XX, and you will look amazingly cool at cocktail parties. I know this because I am seldom cool but at cocktail parties, with my very own comic book, I can basically have sex with anyone in the room. But don't believe me, it costs you nothing and almost no time to try it yourself.]]>

Sony Ericsson CEO: We Should Have Taken The iPhone More Seriously
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Sony Ericsson President and CEO Bert Nordberg made a number of interesting statements about the iPhone, Android, Windows Phone and Motorola.Defending the decision to pick Android as the choice operating system for its mobile handsets, Nordberg posits that it was 'the best choice they could have made' considering its rapid growth, but also acknowledges that the company "should have taken the iPhone more seriously when it arrived in 2007".Asked whether he would have liked to buy Motorola Mobility rather than Google, he candidly responds:"Well sure, but before you go shopping you have to become rich. Who Should You Trust? Redfin Launches A Scouting Report For 1 Million Real Estate Agents
Redfin, the online platform for real estate search and brokerage services, has made some noise in the past, building a service that's currently being valued at $230 million, at least according to trading on SharesPost. It's been a little while since we've heard some big news from the Seattle-based company, but this morning the real estate brokerage is releasing a cool new feature that puts real estate agents on notice and gives home buyers and sellers a nifty "hot or not" comparison tool.Redfin is today releasing the "Redfin Scouting Report", a way for users to look up the performance statistics for over 1 million real estate agents in 14 major metropolitan areas, with information on nearly every agent in these cities, according to Redfin CEO Glenn Kelman. ]]>
