Accenture has carried out a global study on the desires of drivers on the future of their cars. In short, the central question of this study was : what would you like to have in the future in your car?
The Accenture survey was conducted with 7000 Automobile in seven countries, including USA. Here are some important conclusions:
- 91% of respondents indicated they would be likely to use a system to assist lane change and a Blind Spot Monitoring,
- 83% say they want embedded devices that can automatically contact a company troubleshooting when necessary,
- 75% want a system that contacts without intervention from them a first aid center in case of accident,
- 83% would like their vehicle is equipped with a detection system for traffic lights, traffic jams, accidents and delays, can warn the driver in advance,
- 63% of respondents would like to have communication systems from vehicle to vehicle,
- 58% of respondents would like to read and dictate emails to their vehicles,
- 57% would like the windshield to act as a visual display showing the speed, for example, or information about what is going on the road in front of the vehicle.
The future car will be high-tech, or will not!
