Acer has announced its first dip into the Ultrabook market at this year's IFA. A more obvious leaning towards the trend-setting MacBook Air design than Toshiba's Portégé Z830 notebook, the Aspire S3 will come with a choice of second generation Intel Core processors, either solid state or hybrid hard drive storage and promises an impressive battery life.
The S3´s chassis is made of a magnesium and aluminium alloy, providing the premium feel of metal construction without adding too much weight. At a shade under 1.4kg, this 13.3in screened device isn´t much heavier than a plastic-bodied 10.1in netbook.
Here is Specification and Feature of Acer S3 Ultra slim
The Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook is said to feature 2nd generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processors, and a choice between 240 GB SSD or 320/500 GB HDD. In terms of ports, this unltrabook will reportedly feature a HDMI-out port and 2-in-1 card reader that supports SD Cards and MultiMediaCard. The S3 has an Acer Crystal Eye 1.3 megapixel camera, microphone and features Dolby Home Theater v4. For connectivity, it has been claimed that the S3 comes with Acer InviLink Nplify 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi CERTIFIED technology and even Bluetooth 4.0+HSR technology.
Although the inside of the S3 features the anodized finish similar to Apple´s aluminium-bodied laptops, the lid has a shinier brushed finish. It´s all very swish, only disturbed by the dark plastic strip that forms part of the laptop´s hinge. You can´t have everything though, and there´s no denying this is a good-looking laptop.
The Intel Core i3 is priced at Rs 47,000 and the i5 is being offered at Rs 51,999. The product will be made available in retail chain Croma from October 15.
