Apple's share price plunged 3 per cent after it was revealed that the new phone would be the 4S, not an all-new iPhone 5. The new iPhone is iPhone 4S, not iPhone 5 - looking very similar to the current model, but voice-controlled and with other hi-tech features (full hands-on first impressions are below). The phone launches on October 14.

The new handset will have a dual core A5 processor like the one in iPad 2 by apple only. all of which puts it back in competition with rivals such as Samsung.
iPhone 4S Voice Features & Intelligent Assistant “Siri”:
How nice it would be if humans could talk to their electronic devices? iPhone 4S has exciting voice features. The intelligent Assistant “Siri” gets all the word done if you just ‘tell’ it what to do. If you ask it “What’s the weather like today?” the assistant will respond by displaying the correct stuff on your screen. If you tell Siri to “Wake me up tomorrow at 6 AM”, it will set the alarm at 6 AM for the next day. Quite an impressive technology! Siri can help you find restaurant information if you just ask her to find the list of restaurants around and even read your text messages or emails to you. Siri works fine with built in apps and can be used for dictation. It understands English, German and French languages.

The phone has 8MP camera that operates at 3264 x 2448. It’s said to be 33% times faster than camera in earlier iPhone. CMOS backside illuminated sensor — gets 73% more light than the iPhone 4 sensor.
iPhone 4S Network
One of the latest-breaking rumours is that the new iPhone will come equipped with HSPA+ support. Basically, HSPA+ revs up your 3G signal to improve browsing and download speeds, which is always good news. Not every network supports it, but if you're on Three or Vodafone, you'll apparently get speeds of up to 21.6Mbps from day one.
iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S – Even more storage
Yes! More storage! With smartphone owners using an increasing amount of apps and downloading more and more movies from iTunes more storage on the iPhone 5 is inevitable as flash storage becomes thinner. 64GB will become in norm in 2012, but let’s just hope that Apple can keep the price of the iPhone down next year as they have this year, because currently flash storage is very expensive.
Better graphics
The iPhone 4S’s graphics are no slouch being 7x faster than the iPhone 4′s, however in July 2011 we attended a Qualcomm Snapdragon event where they showcased some of their future roadmap and the chips there boasted graphics comparable to an Xbox. If Apple is deadly serious about app development and future proofing gaming they’ll have to up the ante and offer graphics far superior to that of the Xperia Play, Sony’s stab at the mobile gaming market.
