Swivl Motion Tracking iPhone Camera Dock ~ Computer Hardware Mall

You might remember back in January we featured a new device then called the Satarii Star which was a motion tracking camera dock designed for smartphones that was looking for funding to get the project off the ground.
Well today under the new name of Swivl the motion tracking camera dock has now bean relaunched together with a new design and revamped specifications.

The Swivl has been designed to provide a hands free unit that lets record your actions with your iPhone, iPod Touch, Android phone, GoPro, or Flip, whilst always keeping the camera on target. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Swivl is able to follow you horizontally and vertically to make sure that you always stay in the centre of the shot at all times. Swivl explains in their press release:

“Our vision has always been to deliver a compelling experience through Swivl’s unique user interface, amazing (and smart) design, and by listening to our most important influencers, the users. We heard all of your wants and concerns when it comes to mobile video in your lives, and we listened.”

The new Swivl motion tracking smartphone camera dock is now available to preorder for $160 and is expected to ship in early 2012
