Sony Ericsson world's larggest smartphone maker plan to introduce more 2012 xperia family smartphones running Google Android operating system. Two new devices are in the row - xperia S and xperia Ion - were unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas, USA last week. Now the details of the three more 2012 xperia family handsets codenamed as Nypon, Pepper and Tapioca has been leaked on the web.
already reported about the xperia MT27i 'Pepper' handset last week. The Pepper MT27i features a dual-core 1 GHz ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 mobile processor and 3.7-inch FWVGA (480x854) Reality Display. Pepper will come preloaded with Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread but would be capable of running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This smartphone is most likely to succeed the current xperia Neo and Neo V handsets.
Sony Ericsson's yet another 4.0-inch display bearing 2012 xperia smartphone is Nypon. Bearing product model number LT22i and codenamed Nypon, the handset features dual-core 1 GHz ST-Ericsson NovaThor U8500 mobile processor and 1 GB of RAM. This smartphone will feature 16 GB on-board storage.
Most distinctive aspect of Nypon would be its 1000 nits bright display that is branded as WhiteMagic. The WhiteMagic is the new display technology that will offer super bright screens for the smartphones.
The Sony xperia Nypon will feature 8.1-megapixel Exmor R BSI sensor loaded camera capable of 1080p HD compete with LG's Nova display clad Optimus Black and Nokia 701 smartphones.
Sony Ericsson will also introduce an entry level like midrange smartphone in 2012 xperia family which has been codenamed as Tapioca. With model name ST21i, the Tapioca handset will feature a single-core 800 MHz mobile processor with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB onboard storage. Featuring a 3.2-inch HVGA (320x480) display, Tapioca features a 3.2 megapixel camera and will run Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread.
The upcoming Sony Ericsson smartphones in 2012 xperia category will come with Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread running by default and will be capable of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. Unlike the other Android based smartphones, Sony Ericsson devices take a while to reach the Indian shores. Also the updates for the same take more time to reach the consumers. That is one reason why people consider competing devices over the Sony Ericsson devices.
